History Is on the Side of Republican Filling a Supreme Court Vacancy in 2020

Donald Trump has the power to make a Supreme Court nomination all the way to the end of his term. Senate Republicans have the power to confirm one at least until a new Senate is seated on January 3. If Trump is re-elected in November, he will have four more years to make such nominations and, if a Republican majority remains in the Senate, it may become a Trump-tailored Supreme Court.
